Large walk out Basement
This foundation was built during the worst flooding on record. It has 18 corners, ten foot tall walls, four foot frost walls/stem walls at the rear, five steps in a continuous footing, an attached garage and a safe room. The top of the wall is stepped, to match the grade and to allow for the maximum number of windows to be built into the wood frame knee wall areas. It also eliminated the need for large retaining walls. All walls and footing are steel reinforced, and act as a retaining wall. The safe room cap/concrete deck uses an engineered drop-form system to provide maximum strength and minimum weight. All phases of foundation construction on this project were performed by All American, except for the floors. Phases included Site engineering and planning, conversion of blueprints to accomodate walkout, elevation planning, Site work, Excavation, Compaction, Foundation layout, Footings, Walls, Perimeter drain, Waterproofing, sub-floor stone with sump pit, and backfill.
